Holistic Micro-needling

Micro-needling Explained: How does it work?

Micro-needling is a non-invasive procedure that is performed using an oscillating pen with a single-use needling attachment. The punctures create micro-traumas, to the second layer of skin, or dermis. These mini-injuries cause collagen and elastin to build and the skin to naturally repair itself: leaving the skin with reduced fine lines and wrinkles, smaller pores, reduced acne scarring, and discoloration, and much more. By deeply opening the pores, this procedure helps the skin absorb topical serums, which are vital for cellular regrowth.

What is “Holistic” Micro-needling?

Holistic micro-needling is the term used for our micro-needling treatment at Sage Haven because this treatment involves more than just the local micro-needling on the face. A Holistic Micro-needling treatment involves body acupuncture points to treat underlying health conditions as well as what is shown at the surface. A brief intake is performed while the numbing cream is setting in, to better understand patient goals and how to craft the treatment to nourish the body from the inside out. In addition to the body acupuncture points, crystal therapy is also included in this session.
